I saw this movie in theaters in January. It was a good movie but not my fave. I generally like movies with good meanings and ones that have realistic elements. I love Disney movies cause 1) sometimes I'm a kid(at-heart) 2) they usually have more substance to their family-friendly competitors. When Dick Van Dyke came on[mentioned towards the end], people in the theater were cheering so, I guess they were fans of him in the original movie. He was a great dancer in the movie for his age.
This is the plot- From the original movie, Mary Poppins "returns" to the boy [Michael] ,whom she used to babysit. Michael is now grown up and is a widower, lives with his sister, his housekeeper and his kids. He has a week before him and the family get thrown out of the house to find a bank share certificate. Michael's kids find Mary Poppins while in the park since they let go of it and she grabbed it. She comes homes with the kids and decides she will be their nanny.

The kids decide they will sell their mother's special bowl to get money for the house. The bowl breaks and the kids,Mary Poppins and the lamplighter[Lin Manuel Miranda] go to fix it. The family decide not to use it to pay up the house. The family finds some of the share certificate that they need on the final day that they are allowed to stay in the house. Mary Poppins, the kids and the lamplighter go to Big Ben to extend the amount of time before it strikes midnight. The president of the bank isn't willing to accept the certificate since it's partially missing a piece. Mr. Dawes Jr.[Dick Van Dyke] appears out of nowhere and allows the family to keep the house and gets pissed off at the president. The movie ends with the family going to a fair the next day and Mary Poppins leaves again.
